They look great! Hard to believe those are 15mm! |

Shouldn't the OR's jackets be blue? Their waistcoats? |

Sorry, not sure what you mean by ORs. Waistcoats and lining would be blue for full uniform yeah (as on the officer), but the coats were generally white from what I've been able to gather. The two flankers in the picture have their coats closed and buttoned. I've seen pictures with them having both blue and white cuffs. I figured I'd use that to distinguish between squads on the table. The rank and file minis are in field uniform, so I figure some departures from full dress are acceptable. |

OR = "Other Ranks" Beautiful figures, well-painted. And I may use that white/blue cuff idea for my own figures. |

Their uniform was actually a very light gray, rather than white, but those are very nice either way. |

These look great. One question though; are the OR in waistcoat or their (over?)coat? |

Huh. When I painted them, I worked off a picture of them in what looked like soft field coats; white, but more smock-like, and without the cuffs and structure. I'm wondering now, especially looking at the pockets, if the idea is that they're in the long waistcoat. I guess doing test figures is a good idea after all ;) |

I could be badly mistaken, but I think that is the long waistcoat. But you did a fantastic job. I've been looking at these for a while. |

They look lovely but that is a long waistcoat, look no cuffs. Nice blog too. |

I suspect you're right. I was working on the assumption they were wearing something like this:

I think that is a Capote, a winter coat. No one makes 15mm figures wearing them as far as I know. |

It does not work like the lottery: no win if in disorder It should be Compagnie franche de la marine sort of freikorps meaning. (independent) otherwise it means they are frank; tell the truth, which they might, but I doubt it was a recruiting requirement. No harm done. gris souris (mouse grey) not that bright white and then try to keep something white under field conditions! The bonnet de police is I think all blue if from Cie franche(too lazy to look in books, from memory
no from books, I was not there) Are you sure that illustration is not a milicien or a piquet from the line? I think like the others here the mini is wearing the waistcoat which would be blue, not the capot of irregulars. Otherwise a good painting job |

Ah, yes. The capotes. Wish someone did figs in 25/28mm like this. RAFM does a French Canadien militia man in a sleevless waistcoat ( oviously summer!) with Snowshoes on his back! |
