Following on from the NI tank project, my next idea is to produce a model of Leonardos Da Vinci's tank link At the moment the plan is for a model about 40mm across and 30mm tall that would fit onto a standard 40mm square base. Such sizing would make it useable for VSF, HoTT or anything else that takes your fancy. Since it's basically a shallow cone on top of a circular box, the model would be just those two pieces. It would be up to you to add guns (one or many) and the wheels. If these could be produced for about £5.00 GBP plus postage would anyone else be interested ? Drop me a line at guthroth @ colanhomm dot org. Pete |

At that price I think I would, it's not a hard scratch-build but you don't need a lot and the components you are talking about would save a lot of effort |

Lentulus, yes it's not as attarctive in terms of numbers, but it does mean that if you want more than one they will be more or less identical. |

Sorry, only collecting 28mm, and thus I already have two different models. But I wish you good luck! |

Flip a round GW base over and glue a paper cone on top of it for the basic structure. |

I had the privalege to be one of the re-enactors fighting against the one made at Bovington Tank Museum. It made an impressive 2-4 miles per hour over rough field. My pike got caught on the bodywork and was twisted out of my hand. We could see that the small shotguns were about level with our shins – turning it would destroy a formation in quick time. The main vulnerability was the commander. mostly to missle weapons. We could see that whereas the WW1 tank saw the end of trench warfare, the Leonardo model would have the opposite effect, as only earthworks was going to stop the thing. |
