Looking for some Roman civilians to dress up my gladiator games and for street brwals (as per the latest WSS magazine). Steve makes assorted crowd members- anyone know how do they compare size wise to Foundry? Regards Alan

Rumour has Barber smaller, but I'm afraid I don't have any.

Think you'll find Foundry vary in size quite dramatically.

From memory the Steve Barber figures are close to 25mm, but if they are Plebs, then with their poor diet, they should be weedier looking than the Patricians or soldiers.
As mentioned Foundry heights vary according to range.
I have both, but then I'm not that fussed about heights. Sorry, but mine are in storage so can't check the differences.

The only Roman-era Steve Barber figures I have are from his gladiator audience pack. They are smaller than Foundry, but I use both in my collection.

Religon Thanks for the comparative photos. They are noticeably smaller..though they might do as unarmed bystanders leaving the brawling to their larger better fed gang members.Regards Alan

I don't get excessively worked up about the "height" of 25/28mm figures as long as its not too "gross." As I once said to a Games Workshop shop manager, when he told me GW Rohirim were more like 25s and so "shorter" than some Warhammer figures I was looking at mixing with them for a project,

How tall are you?
I am 5-foot 11 (in the morning anyway!), and he was more like 5-foot 3 or 4…

I've often thought about getting some of Steve's Arena figures myself -- maybe not the gladiators, but the crowd…

There is also a German outfit that makes 1/72 plastics Romans "sitting down" which might not be bad for the back benches on the terraces. I'll try to find the link…
