Played a few games of Panzer 8 Sci-Fi and Mech Attack last week and finally got them up on the blog with pics. It was a good time, though as you'll read, my attempt at creating a scenario for Mech Attack was a bit less than successful. link As always, fullwriteup and bigger/more pics on the blog, but here's a few teasers.

Sounds like those were some fun games. Thanks for sharing! Reminds me that I need to play some Mech Attack soon. |

I agree it is a fun set of rules and the price is right. Dave |

Thanks folks, The club only does 10mm sci-fi a few times a year, but it's definitely something I look forward to. Especially now that we've discovered Panzer8 and can put a multitude of units on the table. We had such fun we've decided to do 10mm sci-fi next week as well. Stay tuned! |

That was a fun read. I dont have either of those rulesets, however, I recently picked up Battletech's Strategic Ops PDF for $10 USD off their website. The Quickstrike rules inside have reinvigorated my love for the genre and setting. As a 6mm lover of rules such as Epic: Armageddon and Strike Legion, playing a fast version of Battletech with streamlined damage and movement makes me so happy! |

I agree. The Quickstrike rules really allow Battletech to be both fun and fast game now. Being able to use lots of mechs is also a big plus! Thanks, John |

Though I love the background, novels, etc., I have zero interest in playing classic BT. Quickstrike on the other hand sounds really appealing. I bought the StratOps pdf a while ago and only printed up the relavent Quickstrike/Battleforce sections. Seems to be a good game. As we already have MA I haven't tried to get the club to buy into another ruleset, but someday maybe. There's also many Battleforce pre-made cards available for free out there and a unit creator as well. I've been saying for a while that QS should be released as a stand-alone book. I think alot of folks would be keen to try the rich BT universe and model range if they didn't have to sift through the CBT rules tomes. |

Ordinarybass – I agree about a dedicated Quickstrike book! I'd jump back into Battletech for that. I've thought about buying the StratOps PDF ($10 via wargamevault), but I'd prefer a standalone book. I like Mech Attack, but I'll probably buy StratOps in the near future. |
