This blogsite is new to me so it may be new to some of you. I think it quite excellent and inspiring. So, with much respect to Mr Sidney Roundwood, enjoy.

Yes, Roundwood's World if one of the best.

Couldn't agree more. He has a real flair for terrain and a great eye for composition and colour. Plus he's a very nice chap.

Sidney has cost me hundreds of dollars during the past year.

(with clenched fist) SIDNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great looking games.

Sidney's blog has been a tremendous inspiration for me. It was one of the things that got me in WW1 gaming and also back to the terrain-making and painting table.
Digger.

Thank you, Captain. I feel a bit embarrassed posting here, but thank you all very much. I'm glad you enjoy the blog. I've a lot planned for this winter and spring, so I hope you enjoy what's to come.

If I'd say anything it's just to mention that my blog, while written by me, is really for all of you as a way of giving back anything I can to my hobby, with heartfelt thanks.

Sidney,

My pleasure. Your blogsite and Scarab Miniatures WWI figures have defined part of my wargaming year for 2013, so thank you. So good.

As aye,

D'Ewell

Very nice blog with great photos, thanks for the link. Never really understood why people would game WWI (except for air wargames), but starting to see why now.

Hey, would the author consider a post reviewing the best and the worst of WW1 movies and television? I need an endless supply of audio-visual inspiration to watch/listen to while painting and I haven't had much good luck with WWI subjects. Paths of Glory is great, ANZACS is good, but, say, 'Flyboys' or 'For King and Country' are pretty bad. A top 10 list would be really helpful.

Thanks Oberst Radl, much appreciated. I can certainly try and put together a list – a lot of the older films (inter-war) are well worth seeing, as are some of the films which have the Great War as a background. Let me see what I can do!

Hi

Dont forget the BBC Great War series

The best TV series by far and The Daily Mail edition of all 26 episodes can be found on Ebay at resonable prices

Absolutely love your blog, Sidney. It's inspirational.

I've got a bunch of WWI Germans (and am working on Brits), and it is interesting recognize when we've painted the same figure and compare techniques.

I wish I lived closer to you – I'd like to bend your ear about some terrain and trench-modeling techniques over a beer some time.

Ilkley, thanks for the recommendation.
