That is one gutsy videographer!

YIKES

Yikes is right! At the 24-second mark, when the gun elevates and starts to swing toward the videographer just before firing – gut-clenching! And then he casually wipes the dust off the lens. Whew!

Not sure "gutsy" is the word I would use.

Looks like it's a good thing for the tankers that only a camera is being aimed at them. No evidence of supporting infantry that I could tell, and all buttoned up.

Well, they are plated in Reactive tiling and the rebels will probably only have a few RPGs so they probably have a reasonable level of safety. It is MUCH harder to kill a Modern MBT than WWII-era and (our favorite Game Mechanics) indicate.

If they were up against trained Regulars they would be vulnerable but against Militia? Probably fine.

One thing i will say is they are intimidating as hell. Not using their Coax MGs though…

At 1:18 the cameraman throws what looks to be the pistol grip of an RPG7 out the window. Maybe it was broken?

True, but modern games tend to only include RPG-7s – not the more modern, more powerful, more capable RPGs. They were using RPG-29s in Iraq, at least on a limited basis.

Yes, I know it's Wiki, but I have other – more reliable – sources that say pretty much the same.

The Chechen militia proved quite capable of killing Russian tanks with reactive armor with RPG-7s by firing on them from the upper stories of buildings.

'The Chechen militia proved quite capable of killing Russian tanks with reactive armor with RPG-7s by firing on them from the upper stories of buildings.'
From my reading this is true but the Chechens often worked in teams of 6+ RPG's operating together firing multiple rockets to defeat Russian armour.

That camera man has one huge set of balls.

Yeah, attacking from above, those tanks would be pretty darn easy to defeat with many modern infantry AT weapons. No reactive armor on the engine gratings…

Sure, the militia are probably not high-quality troops.
The Syrian Army tankers are not demonstrating great skills either, though.

Even throwing the old Malotov Cocktail on the top of an AFV could certainly do some damage if only scare the crew ! huh?
