Hullo, I've posted on our GeMiGaBoK club site a scenario I ran in one of our campaigns I was umpiring, but I was unable to attend a game session.

I wanted to script a sequence of off-board events, that would be hidden from the players, and the events would be revealed to the players without an umpire being present.

Thanks for your comment. The campaign was basically Germans vs the umpire, and the Soviet players did not have many decisions to make.

The campaign ended after half a dozen battles, in hindsight I should have designed more balanced scenarios for the players, especially the Soviets were shocked when losing entire tank brigades to an entrenched Tiger company. Even if historical, they (Soviet) players anyway did not enjoy the experience.

While we dont do campaigns we so run Rapid Fire games at vaiours conventions (RECON, HURRICON and Rapier) with all the players on one side against a scripted opponent run by the GMs. As akselia points out in some situations one side or the other may have very little decision making, for example fixed defenses, which makes it a great game for one side but boring for another. It also allows games where the underdog won partially because the side with an advantage were so poorly handled.

Numerous battle problems and being the OPFOR for many exercises while in the military lead to this approach. It can really speed up a convention game.
