I have posted a map of the encounter between Cornwallis' light infantry and Hessian Jagers and Maxwell's Light Infantry Brigade at Iron Hill or Cooch's Bridge. link
Fife & Drum Brigade of Guards (left) supported by Minden Prussian jagers (right) who are filling in as Hessian Jagers in my AWI army. This little skirmish took place on September 3, 1777 and was the first action fought during Howe's Philadelphia campaign. The forces are small enough, approximately 700 to 800 Americans and about 950 British and Hessians, to be fought on the table top with skirmish level forces. Using a 1:10 ratio of figures to men, we are talking 70-80 Americans and maybe 90 British and Jagers for the game.
The information is posted on my Fife & Drum Miniatures blog for your review. Any additional information about the battle would be appreciated as I would like to fill this description out with enough depth to develop a wargame scenario for Cooch's Bridge. |

I just finished down loading the map from your website. Then I come here and there it is. I can always use new AWI scenarios. Thanks! |

Well I went back to copy the text to paste into word to save. But I am getting a weird code instead of text. What am I doing wrong here? |

I agree with Redcoat 55, great looking table and figures. I like the use of a smaller engagement in the AWI. |

Outstanding! And, the only AWI engagement fought in Delaware, IIRC. |

And the descendants of the Coochs are still alive, carry the family name, and live in Delaware. Amazing. |

DAF any chance of side by side shots of your new range with Minden? Thanks for the great shot of the lovely game there

@Marcus Maximus: F&D and Minden are exactly the same size, style and proporation because both were designed by Richard Ansell at 1/56 scale (about 30-32mm high). That is why they are interchangeable. I use my Minden SYW Prussians as Hessians. |

I am going to do the battle in 18mm
..your figs are fantastic. I also live a couple of miles from the battlefield as well. |

Very nice. I was surprised to read about the skirmishing in my adopted state of MD, prior to this battle. Seems MD did seem some small battles. |

I get stuck in traffic on Cooch's bridge all the time… I am always thinking I should design a scenario for this and run it at Cold Wars/Fall In ;) Cooch's Bridge is a bottle neck! |
