Anyone own these? Searched the Internet for reviews, including PlasticSoldierReview.com, but came up empty (found some forum comments, but no one owned them, just comments on the photo's online). Found them for ~$9US + $7 USD S/H, for a set of 12 riders and 12 Warg mounts. Look very decent in the pictures, but owners' comments would be much appreciated. Took the plunge, ordered two sets, one of the Light set, and one of the Heavy sets. They work out to around $1.10 USD per set of Rider/Mount, delivered. Cheers! |

I didn't see any reviews either, but the scans of the boxes and sprues look nice. I tried searching under "Dark Alliance" |

Don't own the wargs but i do own set I of the orcs. They are nice figures and are pretty easy to clean up. They paint up well. What's not to love? Hopefully, the Warg set (3?) will be of the same good quality. |

Sgt Slag where did you find them? |
Sgt Slag | 14 Jan 2013 12:09 p.m. PST |
Here is the best price I could find them at: link They're located in Ukraine, but they take CC's, and PayPal (safer option, IMO). Cheers! |

Thanks for the links guy's. These are very tempting. Do they plan on expanding the Light Alliance as well? |

Thanks for the links guy's. These are very tempting. Do they plan on expanding the Light Alliance as well? As you might have guessed, getting information about these figures is a lot like pulling hens teeth! So hopefully we shall see more of everything, but don't hold your breath! |

Hobbyterra's prices match the Ukraines. Ukraine shipped today, order placed last night, by air mail. So far, Ukraine seems good to deal with. Will bookmark Hobbyterra, though. Thanks! Cheers! |

Sgt Slag, when you get yours I would be curious to know how tall they are – I have some old Ral Partha 25mm goblin-imps that I need some imp cavalry for and I think the 1/72 scale warg riders might work. Thanks! |
Sgt Slag | 14 Jan 2013 6:35 p.m. PST |
That's what I am curious about, too. If they are 24mm tall, as one catalog site states, they will be painted as Orcs. If they are closer to 22mm tall, I will paint them up as Goblins. I used the 22mm tall Caesar Goblins for Wolf Riders, mounting them on top of Prince August Goblin Wolf Rider wolf castings I have (don't have the Goblin riders, just the wolves). The Caesar Goblins worked great: cut off the plastic base on the spearmen, glued them to the wolves, and done. The Alliance sets need no modifying, and they are really nicely sculpted. Only question is size, and what paint scheme to use, based on size, and race. I plan on posting them on my blog when I get them. I also plan on using my flatbed scanner to get some decent images of them -- works much better for figures, than a camera, even on macro settings, if you want to see fine details. Cheers! |

TBeyer Ral Partha Europe has goblin imp cav link |

Thanks DeadAwake, I already have a bunch of those but there are only 4 poses, no command figures. The 1/72 orcs on wargs looked like they come with a musician and standard bearer, so I thought that would add a little more variety – plus the wargs are running while the Ral Partha ones are standing. |

Yeah I see what your saying, these do look good. Seems the wargs are out of stock at the links. |

Hobby Tera is out of stock. Sgt Slag, how much was shipping from the Ukraine to the US? When the package arrives, post to the homepage your experiences with the order/company. |
Sgt Slag | 15 Jan 2013 12:10 p.m. PST |
I ordered two boxes at $7.83 USD each; air mail shipping was $11.06 USD. They posted my order within 24 hours of my submission. That was yesterday. Waiting for it to arrive is
Challenging. They look great, and the price is fantastic, if delivery does't take too long. If it goes well, and they are as good as the photo's appear, I'll be ordering another two boxes for my humanoid hordes. >;-). I'll post a topic on the order service as soon as they arrive, Consumer Affairs board. Cheers! |

Does anyone know if these are available in the UK? or is there any distributors over here? |
Sgt Slag | 25 Jan 2013 3:51 p.m. PST |
The figures arrived, and I've posted some scans of them on my blog: link. They arrived at my doorstep, in the middle of the USA, after all of 10 days, shipping via Air Mail, from the Ukraine. Very nice figures, especially for the price. Even with the Air Mail shipping costs, they still clock in lower than anything else -- even Reaper's Bones figures, which I like very much! Cheers! |

@sgt slag thanks for the pics! I've been waiting to get a good look at these and am excited to order them soon but hannants still has them listed as unavailable. |
GriffinTamer | 11 Mar 2013 2:56 p.m. PST |
I believe Toy Soldier HQ has them in stock for $14.00 USD: link They're very nicely sculpted and reasonably easy to clean up. I especially like the wargs. They're a bit bigger and bulkier than the Caesar goblins; though they still measure closer to 22mm (or even 20mm, some of them). |
Pauls Bods | 12 Mar 2013 12:26 p.m. PST |
@sgt slag Thanks for the write up. Do they sit Fit well on their mounts? |
Sgt Slag | 12 Mar 2013 1:19 p.m. PST |
Griffon Tamer: these are Orcs, not Goblins, so they should be larger than Caesar's Goblin figures. I own Caesar's Orcs, but I have not really compared the two Orcs to see how they match up. I'll have to do that, as they will be part of the same army
Pauls Bods: I've been away from my painting table for a while
Need to get back to them. Yes, they fit reasonably well. I need to find a decent epoxy, or glue, though, to secure them to their mounts, as the plastic is flexible enough to potentially cause them to slide up from the pressure on the figure's legs against the side of the mount -- that and handling will likely knock them off rather easily, and they could disappear into the carpet. <GASP!> Pinning would be a very effective way to secure them, if the pinning can be done without too much effort (1/72 figures are rather small to work with). Not sure yet, what the best approach will be. I'll try to get to the mounting bit soon, and then I will update this thread. Cheers! |

Also, here is my go-to guy for plastic figures of all kinds. He is usually cheaper than everyone else, and his postage for figures is always $7 USD, no matter how many you buy: auction Right now he has 3 of the sets listed, for $13 USD each. |
