Shapeways recently released a set of ATS-59G tractors in 6mm. To my knowledge, the only previous model in this scale was one by In-Service Miniatures, which today is pretty hard to find. There are four different models in the set, two with tarpaulins (high top and low top) and two without. One of the latter has some soldiers relaxing in the cargo bed. I took a chance and ordered two sets, one in white strong flexible (WSF) and one in frosted ultra detail (FUD). They're both excellent, although FUD appears to have better definition. I haven't ordered one yet, but there's also a similar set of the ATS tractor. |

Photos of FUD models look like ghosts until they're primed or painted. If somebody will explain how to do it in horsey-duckey terms, I'll be happy to add links in the future. (Please be gentle – I'm very old and not computer savvy.) Until then, check the 3D renderings on the Shapeways website. I'll also be glad to add photos (once I have them) if somebody can tell me how. I'm a newcomer to TMP and it's not intuitively obvious. |
