I haven't ordered them yet, but Shapeways has released ten new WWI airplanes in 1/300 scale. There are a Salmson, a Bristol M1C, a couple of Moranes, and six others. As far as I can tell, the models are available nowhere else in this scale. They're available only in frosted ultra detail (FUD) material, which means they'll be fairly delicate and rather expensive. If they're like previous models from der Kampfflieger, they should be excellent.

If you do order them Fred then please post some before and after pictures here.

Aren't these the same ones that Too Fat Lardies has been referring to?

These are 1/300 instead of 1/144.

I've got two French bombers that were made in the FUD – they looked good when they showed up, but have unfortunately languished in storage for over a year since my move, so I can't offer an opinion on how they paint/stand up.

I'm impressed by the range of aircraft offered, and not just in 1/300 – If I were starting out (or could find someone who'd like my collection of metal stuff…) I'd build forces from the 1/350 offerings that were/are made to go with the ICOG rules.

Excellent, 1/300 (or thereabouts) is my scale of choice for WWI a/c.
