The discipline to leave them untouched for 2 years inspires me.

1. Surprised it didn't eat through the plastic container.
2. Very brave of you to touch it with bare fingers. Do you still have them?
3. If you could have managed to save that, it would have made wonderful sludge for a post-apocalyptic scenery piece.

The courage to touch them after two years amazes me. This is the stuff nightmares are made of

I pretty much stripped a few down to bare metal in Goof Off in a couple of days with aggitation often. Your a brave man to mess with this without a chemical/biological suit.

I did that once (unintentionally) with a pile of N scale tank car bodies in Simple Green. They were just fine.

A testament to the toughness of pewter!! Maybe they should make real military equipment out of the stuff!!

I took an eight year break from painting, for a variety of reasons. Sometime before that, I put some minis in a babyfood jar full of Pine-Sol.

Ten years later, I finally rediscovered them and cleaned them off. Paint came off *real* easy, it did.

Lol. Just did similar myself to sell on Crusade Bring & Buy. Had them sitting in glass jars in Dettol for about same time. The stringyness is a problem. I tend to fill a sink with water and soda crystals, get the old big 'cavity search' gloves on and use and old rechargeable electric toothbrush. Soda crystals help counteract the stringy paint a lot.

Wife complained bitterly about the dettol stink though.

very brave using turps without gloves though mate!
