And is the headgear on units like the Tercio de Gallegos wearing a tophat sort of thing or a shako? Tx. |

When in doubt for this date (US included) put it in a roundhat or tarleton. |

Sorry, I cannot understand very well your question. You want to know what type of helmets were each unit? Mostly shakos and some Tarletons. Other some like this one. "Handmade Felt Hat (Galera) from sheepswool." link Amicalement Armand |

Helmets might be either felt or leather. Stiffened with leathr straps and metal bands. |
