Siege Works Studios is looking for Artists/Graphic designers to work on book and supplement projects for their various Horse and Musket and 20th century rule books and army supplement books. A knowledge of CS In design preferred but not essential.

Anybody interested in working on these projects, please email Drew here queveritas@hotmail.com

Cheers

Good luck on finding an artist. On our rule book project we have gone through 7 artists. I'd meet with them and show them examples of what we needed. We'd agree on a price and then they would never complete the project. So I finally realized why they call them starving artists. lol

So we switched to doing all the interior art with photos. Not the look we wanted but its what we had to do to get the project moving.

You should actually look at artists online, particularly at good reputable forums. Then go look at their portfolios.

Try places like CGHUB.com and post in their freelance section.

I can actually give some good recommendations on artists, PM me if interested, these are ones I know personally, or have worked with in the past.

I haven't had any of my artists bail on me, although being an artist myself, I know what to look out for when hiring.

If it is a book about gaming, why not have people submit pictures of their painted troops and games, or use pictures from your own games like they did for Black Powder?
The eye candy really made the book…..and you don't have to deal with artists and their quirks.
Just a thought.

A wargamer calls an artist quirky??

I just sprayed cake all over the screen in laughter.

Nice one, Rex. I'm sure artists are queuing up for tips from your typical wargamer on how to be normal.

Thanks to everyone who replied to the advert. There are truly loads of amazing and very talented artists and graphic designers out there and I appreciate the time everyone put in to reply. Applications for graphic designers and artists is now closed. Once again many thanks for the overwhelming response.

Heh, see? It's not artists that are the problem it's flakey people in general.
