Gents, I don't own the rules but I like what I have read about them on TMP. Being a 'tool box' concept would they work for 54mm skirmish game with the 'Army' units being battalion(s)/companies vice brigades. Thinking along the lines for the French and Indian War actions / American Revolution / War of 1812? How much larger would you have to increase movement or weapon ranges or could you abstract them by keeping the same scale for 28/30mm? Thanks |

Ther should no problem useing Black Powder for 54mm figs.Thre should be no problem makeing your standard units "companies".In the scale you are wanting to do,,the one canon being a battery in the rules might work just as well as one gun section. As for the range,,try whats in the book,,,,and if that dose not work for you,,,increase by say no more then 50 %. Runicus |

IMHO BP replicates the pre-battle deployments well. You direct commanders and they execute commands well or they have bowel problems and the command does not move. This means a command could move 3 times in it's movement. For a Calvary unit you will need a large table. Tabletop wargames are an abstraction, just how comfortable are you with the abstraction and the scale of your figures. Personally, for the scale of your figures, as we are gentlemen, deployment is complete, lines are dressed and we are inviting each other to fire first. So, a more detailed, "finer", set of rules for 54mm. |

I think the ranges and movement rates will be fine for 54mm figs. They seemed large for 28mm figs to me at first. I know use them for 15mm stuff too. I think you should be fine using black powder for this and I was thinking about doing the same thing for a Bushy Run game. |

Being a 'tool box' concept would they work for 54mm skirmish game with the 'Army' units being battalion(s)/companies vice brigades. BP will work fine with 54mm figures as several others have said, though I wouldn't call a game "with the units being battalion(s)/companies" a skirmish!! |

I think the rules would be better using company level units. |
