We played an ugly test game on Sunday, Jan 6, 2013. It was between the Gauls and the Thracians, circa 281 BCE. The Gauls, a Celtic tribe, were defeated by the Romans in 203 BCE. Prior to this they invaded Thrace, Epirus, and the Greek City-States of the Balkans. They pretty much munched the Thracians. We expected the same in the test game. Well, the Thracians won. It requires extreme tactical skill in the use of terrain, generals, but most especially using Light Horse in non-traditional ways. Those who are interested in testing their mettle in advanced Cavalry and METT-T (Mission, Equipment, Time, Troops, and Terrain) may want to look into this match-up. |

Okay, I suck. We thought this was going to be such a bad, one-sided thrashing, we didn't bother recording it. |
