As I was a bit tired of painting the Chaos Marines anf cultists[http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=286749] and I do not want to wait for Dark Angels, I decided to convert my old Ragnar's Space Wolves into a V6 army.
The Army (painted in the mid-90s) looked like this in V2 :

The first step was to repaint the bases for I did not like the old ones anymore.

Then I modified the Grey Hunters pack to remove some Power weapons.

The next step that is in progress is to replace the bases of the Wolf Guard Terminator and the one of the Dreadnought.

After that, I wished to add additional packs ( Grey Hunters, Blood Claws, Long Fangs and WolfGuard Terminators) that I alreay owned and some vehicles ( Rhino / Razorback ).

I love 2nd edition Space Wolf models (my faves are the Blood Claws) and you've done a brilliant job with these. Thanks for sharing.

Using all these 2nd ed models, I wonder if some whippersnapper will complain you're not using GW figures?

I've thought about putting together an Imperial Guard platoon from an assortment of RT-era Adventurers, Space Pirates and Imperial Army figures. I'd expect the whining to be mighty.

Very cool, it reminds me battle report from my first WD, very similar Andy Chambers army crushed Jervis Johnson Ghazgkulls Orcs

SgtPerry08 Jan 2013 12:25 a.m. PST

There was an additional Blood Claws unit. I was so fond of Andy Chambers vs Jervis Johnson AARs.

FreemanL08 Jan 2013 5:56 a.m. PST

They were classic and they gamed so well together. Andy was always slightly gamey and aggressive with his armies and Johnson was eclectic and about the story of the army. Together in their reports, they seemed to me, to cover both sides of the coin. Those were some good, old days!

When Danielle wanted to game with Space Wolves, we deliberately looked for and added some of the 2nd Ed models due to their classic coolness. Nothing wrong with the new plastics, but sometimes change is not always for the best.

I do not known if it is easy to convert them to v6. I think that the Eldars will come before.
