First up a Happy New Year to all my fellow friends here on TMP
It has been a couple of weeks since I frequented the site in earnest and with Xmas now behind us I thought I would share the limited progress made on Pirate Island. Things are starting to come together and a full round up plus lots of photos can be seen on the blog. shedwars.blogspot.com

The surf looks fantastic! I also really like the vegetation clinging to the cliffs by the fortification. It adds visual interest and a lifelike touch for me. |

Very nice, very nice indeed, up to my arms in a pirate ship and figs myself at the moment, so great to see others inspiration. As an aside, the knife thrower, any ideas what make he is? |

Hi Folks Thanks for the feedback
MadDrMark – I too llike the surf..wallpaper, darkgreen paint + white highlights with a coat of varnish. Rapier Miniatures the knife thrower is from Foundry as are all my pirates at the moment. Still have to start on my ship(s). Le Petit Tondu – I started on the Pirate Village this morning – expect to see some photos soon. Eric |

Wow
more feedback
really appreciate all the positive comments. Responding to Tabletopndice (great name!) – I really enjoyed building the FIW fort – whereas this one has been a bit of a pain (too many bits of card !) Time is relative but it does help that I am a bit of an insomniac and not a perfectionist – both traits that serve my hobby well. Aside from working a 12 hour day (including commute),I do have a family to entertain and other social interests. On average what you are seeing hear is abnout 8-10 hours of work a week. It does help that I have the shed so I can leave the mess lying around after each stint. This is typically an hour in the morning 6am- 7am and a few hours at the weekend/week nights. Whats still to come
well here is sneak picture of some of the buildings started on Pirate Town –
cheers Eric |
