The 8th provides new ways of doing army lists based on percentages rather than just numbers of units/characters. it also says it is supposed to work for old army lists.
Here is the question:
How do you work characters that in 6th edition took up more than one slot? For example a character that in 6th edition took up a lord and a hero slot. Where do you assign the values in 8th? Does it just go to lords, or can you split it up?
Specifically thinking of Lizardmen and their expensive priests.

I would say that if it is a lord character (takes at least one lord slot), then all the points should go from the lord allocation, regardless of any hero slots also consumed.

what Griefbringer said. You may also take a look at the Lizardman errata for edition 8 on GWs site, and see if they kept the special rules for Lizardmen in 7th and 8th.

BTW I played a couple of games of the 8th edition over the break and really liked it despite losing them all :) At least at the 1000 point level, I had a great time.
