What's not to love about Chibi WWI? link

I'm in! Looks like the early stretch goals will include box content upgrades (rather than the ability to BUY box content upgrades)

That's ridiculously cute, especially chibi Rambo and the baby War Wheels (the Red Skull would approve). Looks like they're the wrong scale to use with the other cutesy fantasy figs on the market – Super Dungeon Explore and that D&D-inspired kickstart a while back. Pity, I could see some potential to crossover games.

I decided to back this as well since I am planning more boardgames than miniature games these days. Trying to do more with my wife so that we can spend time together more as well as with friends and that means boardgames, not miniature games. While this does not look exactly like something my wife will play, it is a boardgame and therefore easier to explain to her. I think my brother is also going to support it since it looks like fun for his kids to play. I'm very interested to see how many and what type of stretch goals CMoN have in store for us. grin

Damn ya, Elmo! I had gone clean, and you drag me back in! And these CMoN guys won't stop till then get a kidney or two from me!

Bill, we need a Kickstarter filter. (Well, *I* do, anyway.)

As we will soon to be "going to ground" in a new house (and buying additional needful things to go along with it, making us less likely to "go out" for funsies), I have also been picking up wife-friendly games. Which also means boardgames, though uncomplicated minis games work too (with "cute" factor being a big plus).

I saw that one, but was barely able to make my saving throw and skip it. I got so many plusses to the roll for being in deep on Impact's chibi adventurers; and awaiting future expansions to Super Dungeon Explore….

But it's a chibi chibi gaming world now for sure ^,^

Paragonicnova05 Jan 2013 10:15 a.m. PST

Its amazing

Its 1 day down and they're at $108,350 USD

They made more money that what Gates of Antares has done in 6 days

Dear god what is going to happen when CMoN makes a Confrontation Kickstarter

This kickstarter site is really hurting my finances.
the chibi John notRambo is worth it alone.

Kidding aside, Mr. Elmo, thank you for bringing this to my attention soon enough to a) obsess over the stretch-goal progression, and b) to raise the scratch for yet another crowdfunding tangent!

I hate it when I happen upon this stuff at the zero hour.

moocifer05 Jan 2013 1:24 p.m. PST

I want to back this but when I asked:

"Will we get to see an advanced copy of the rules, or even an extract from them, before the KS campaign is over ??"

this is the response I received:

"It's possible, but we currently do not have a timeline for that. If we are able to have that ready before this campaign is over we'll share it!"

So the KS campaign is going to have to cough up a lot of "stuff" for the £110.00 GBP (approx. including shipping) the Blitzkreig pledge is going to cost in order to pull me in blind ..

Gaying05 Jan 2013 2:35 p.m. PST

Not for me – looks too childish

Gates of Antares has done in 6 days

That's because, for me, the GoA premise is pretty much on life support out of the gate. I still don't know if these rules have a generic "design your own" system. I'm suspicious of the changing background online thing and is the game serious or whimsical like Fanticide?

I think if Rick had basically said he was going a kind of generic 40K "reboot" with a miniatures line he'd be at a million at least. Right now, I can take a wait and see.

obsess over the stretch-goal progression

I've stopped doing this. I bought in at the level I thought was good and that is that. Too many stretch goals are only opportunities to spend more instead of true upgrades (like the planned plastic replacements for the cardboard components).

The REAL question is what will a WWI Candy & Cola look like?

Dear god what is going to happen when CMoN makes a Confrontation Kickstarter
You will hear a great disturbance in the financial markets, as if millions of credit cards cried out at once, and then were silenced… evil grin

Lego Warrior06 Jan 2013 7:10 a.m. PST

thanks for this great looking figs not worried about the rules as if they are pants I'll use my own based on hail ceaser and black powder – I really hope they get more figs for the range and keep going

Paragonicnova06 Jan 2013 9:01 a.m. PST

New stretch goals up

I do like they are alternating between stuff getting added to core and stuff getting added to bliztkrieg. Honestly while eventually Blizt will be the better deal, core doesnt look half bad

moocifer06 Jan 2013 3:45 p.m. PST

40+ min gameplay video is available now too.

The rules looks horribly, and disappointingly, basic though. :(

wildger08 Jan 2013 9:48 a.m. PST

First, the minis is large and childish like. Not fun to paint. Does not look well if unpainted. I am saving my money for Gates of Antares.
