Looking at the play testing for APIO, they don't seem to be playing on a hex mat.

Does that mean the new version is no longer uses hexed mats or am I being optimistic?

Option for both, but non-hex seems o be the main change.

We are testing the rules at present in order to provide a version with and a version without hexes.

Hexes are the work of the devil! Looking forward to a hex free New Year.

I certainly agree!!! Especially as getting decent hex mats in the UK is harder than finding the holy grail (my money is it's Swindon as that would be ironic!)

For the lack of a hex, a game was bought…

One further question, are these rules going to be covering various fronts?

I like the Italian and Russian front and I know that mostly they used French and British stuff, but I do the like the oddities as well!

I am sure the oddities will be covered in the specials if they are not in the core rules.
