After refighting Murfreesboro on its 150th anniversary yesterday, today (1st January) I fought the small naval action off Galveston on its sesquicentennial.

This post covers the background, scenario and initial setup:

Looks like it was a good game. Nice paint job on the ships. Did you use any specific source for the various ship paint schemes or just go with generic look?

I think I shall try this for my first game of 2013. Very neatly done, sir.

A mixture of generic and Tony Gibbon's 'Warships and Naval Battles of the US Civil War'.

Note that many of the models are not exact representations of the vessels at Galveston (in case that wasn't obvious). The Harriet Lane is, as Navwar do a model of her, and the Owasco is the correct class of gunboat, I think. The Westfield was represented by my one ferry model, so is fairly close. The Clifton was also a ferry, though, but I used a Navwar Miami-class gunboat, the Sachem is represented by the CSS Gaines and the Corypheus (a captured Confederate yacht) was represented by the Navwar CSS Chattahoochee. One of the Confederate gunboats is the Queen Of The West, whilst the other is a generic resin cottonclad from Zodiac.
