I had a bunch of Forgefathers sat in a cupboard and really had no enthusiasm for painting them… until I saw a dark paint-scheme on them. I thought the darker scheme really suited them so I decided to try a dark scheme myself. I decided these would be nasty Dwarfs and have painted their skin suitably pallid too…

Very nice. I like the pallid skin tone, not as sure about the green skin tone on the berserkers…

The heat hammer looks excellent, how did you do it ?

Reverse highlighting.

Start bright and work up to darker shades. I started with a bright yellow and worked up to a deep orange (orange with a bit of red in).

Job done :)

The green skin on the Berserks is as a result of all of the chemicals in their body which shrink their heads and bulk up muscles/hands… this makes them easily 'pointed in the right direction' and able to dish out pain when they get there.

thanks, I'm stealing that for mine !

…especially the molten hammers.

Great work on the hammers. Wonder if it would work on power swords… Might try it.

It worked OK on this sword :) :

Huh, they do look quite nice in the darker scheme. I like them.

Cheers. I've finished a third Berserker now:
