I've got some S&S on the go, and if I can ever put WW2 to one side I may just get them finished! They are lovely little figures!

Even though they are sculpted by the same person, I like Old Glory's 2nd Edition better than S&S. S&S have some good dynamic poses in their skirmish figures! They match up good size-wise with each other, but Old Glory 2nd edition have shoulder arms figures!

Love S&S eventhough I have over 1000 of his 40mm and 1000s of different 15mm ACW figures I picked up many packs of the 25mm when he had a special on them at the conventions. He told me about the 2nd Editiion Old Glory when they came out. I agree they are very nice and mix well with S&S 25mm.

How can I tell if the Old Glory miniatures are second edition?

FireZouave30 Dec 2012 1:25 p.m. PST

Armchair Wargamer, look on their website. They have pics of the 2nd Edition figures. They only made a few different packs which include marching, shoulder arms and firing line. The 1st Old Glory did not have "shoulder arms" poses, and they have a lot of dramatic poses with crazy facial expressions. 1st edition are really a bit taller also.

Thanks!!!

Armchair,

You are probably aware of this, but if not, go to the Old Glory 25s site and join the OG Army for $40. USD When you get the membership you are eligible for 40% off most items offered for a full year. You can really stock ip on the 2nd Edition stuff on the cheap. The 2nds boxed sets have 38 minis including 4 color bearers, or enough stuff to make two small regiments. That's outstanding for $24 USD (price w/discount). Unfortunately, you can't use the discount towards S&S stuff. Happy New Year!
