"X-Wing: what size board?" Topic

I know the rule book recommends 3'x3' for up to 100 point battles. Now that the game has been out for awhile, are folks indeed using that size? Is anyone opting for a bigger board?

What size board is needed for say, 150 or 200 point games?

I played on a 6' x 4' with us starting across the Short distance and it players OK. Still suffered from the "Let's form a knot of spaceships in the middle" Syndrome but it was fine.

3X3 is good for two players and a few ships. Found myself playing on 4x6 too.

4X6 here but working out plans for 6 by 12 as the convention standard.

We use a 4x4 at the local club, handles 10 ships and four players ok.

Thanks guys. Just ordered a 6x4 to complement my 3x3. If nothing else, it will be good for Battlefleet Gothic too.

We set up on a 4 x 6 since that is the size mat I got years ago from Monday Night Productions. It allows a lot of room for maneuver and never feels cramped that way.

Any size you want , 4x6 is the most common( that I have used) despite needing a 3x3.

6' x 12' trench run system – well I would if I owned the game. I played it this past weekend and it was fun. The 3' x 3' game forced some choices on the players to make sure they stayed "on the map" and didn't "fly off" or "flee" the battle.

The local has mostly 6 x 4s and 8 X 4s. We usually use whichever has the least crap on it.
