Could anyone help me in finding pictures of post-Vietnam Cold War Australian uniforms for 1980-1990 period? |

Exactly the same as the Vietnam War, including weapons. US steel helmets were also issued. Stayed that way until 2001 when the Auscam was issued. |

The only thing to add is the basic 'jungle green' uniform started out a deep, dark green and faded with use to a light pale green. I did a quick google and found this, which shows the colour range (although I'm sure they faded lighter than here at times). link |

Try browsing through the 2/4 RAR Battalion yearly magazines online here: 4rarmuseum.com/Magazines.htm Only in black and white but plenty of pics |

For interest, DPCU's were issued to the Army in 1989. |

Actually we got ours issued in Townsville in mid 1988. Look at the 2/4 RAR battalion magazine for 88. Great shots on exercise. See if you can pick me :-) |

So for 1980 Australians in 15mm I can use these chaps?

Sure can; as Rat says same kit as Vietnam up until about 1988. Also for LMGs from about 83 onwards you can add in MAG58s which Peter Pig also do. |

What do you think about Peter Pig professionals form AK-47 range? They share lots of similarities with Vietnam Aussies. By the way does Australian platoon organisation in 80's was same as in modern Au army?

Ive made a 1 to 1 Aussie inf Coy out of a mix of peter pigs vietnam and african ranges, made sure I used m60's and also bought a couple of packs of US inf with m16's (bought a couple of the spare heads in jungle hats and did a few head swaps) to use as section commanders and scouts. My only concern was that the AK47 professionals had rolled up sleeves, hardly a show stopper though. |
