It's great for a 1930's proto-blitzkrieg battlegroup. I can see it with cavalry and motorcycles fighting alongside it. |

I always enter TMP using a shortcut which leads me into ww2 message boards so i never see the home news. So
thanks for the info! |
wargamer6 | 20 Dec 2012 2:37 p.m. PST |
I also enter the site via the message boards and missed this news. As to Armand, I personally enjoy his many contributions to these pages and always open the message when I see it has his name on top as we seem to share similar interests. I suggest that when you see the name you don't click on the page if it irritates you so much. To assume that your opinion represents the majority of readers is somewhat arrogant in my view and I see no harm in Armand wanting to share information with others. |
BlackWidowPilot | 23 Dec 2012 12:03 a.m. PST |
That's a subjective opinion. I'm guessing that 156 people would disagree with it. Argumentum ad populam is always a fallacy no matter how many ways you express it, highland.
Sharing information is the whole point of these boards IIRC. Seems a bit silly to gripe about someone's posting habits when you could just join those members who chose for whatever reason to stifle Armand. Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net

The problem there is you don't know it's one of his posts until you open it and find an intriguing title is actually a link to a 90mm diorama or something equally irrelevant. So, I'm not a fan. Having said that, he's obviously here to stay so I don't bother complaining unless he does something particularly daft. Just ignore and move on. |

I find Armand's posts interesting
I don't see a problem here

I don't read the News items, and I don't mind various topics opening up, which may or may not be of interest to me, but will probably be of interest to a fair number. |

Or, you could ing lighten up, and give the bloke a break? If you click on it, and find it is one of the anti-christs threads, move on, really how hard can it be. I have nothing against the chap, I find about 30% of his threads interesting, the others I leave, and move on. It is really that simple, or am I missing something? John |

The problem there is you don't know it's one of his posts until you open it and find an intriguing title is actually a link to a 90mm diorama or something equally irrelevant. Funny, but despite my own overinflated ego I find the work of others who don't happen to paint anything smaller than 54mm can be quite inspiring and worth a closer look, as much as I do the smaller scale works of my fellow hobbyists. As an historical wargamer, I am often reminded of interesting subjects to add to my SCW, CCW, Great War, World War 2, etc. armies by looking at the dioramas of IPMS members, collectors of display figures, and so forth as much as I do by sifting through period photographs or strolling through a museum.
Terrain projects also come to mind from viewing dioramas, particularly for building field fortifications. Same reason I'll watch just about any sci-fi film or show at least once, just to scrounge for ideas and inspiration. Same reason I'll scour YouTube for historical film clips. IMHO sharing information especially visual references is a big part of why I've been visiting TMP since it's inception. To excoriate a member of TMP simply because he "dares" to share his enthusiasm on a public access hobby forum is frankly pretty weak to put it politely. Leland R. Does anyone know if that's a computer-generated image or a picture of the actual kit? |

.too bad it's in the wrong scale for my use. @highlandcatfrog

Does anyone know if that's a computer-generated image or a picture of the actual kit? At last report that's the computer generated image that will be used to generate a test prototype for making the mold for mass production. Given that Minairons has already delivered a splendid by all accounts fast build Panzer I kit, I am optimistic that they'll keep things going. As Lluis has already stated that he intends to see the models produced in more than one scale suitable for wargamers, including 15mm (1/100), 1/72 scale (YAAAY!!), and 1/56 (28mm).
The Panzer I BTW includes a second turret option for the Spanish Nationalist variant fitted with a 20mm Breda automatic cannon, and decals for German, Spanish Nationalist, and KMT Chinese service vehicles, enough marking to make all three the same nationality. Overall I give Minairons two enthusiastic thumbs up for their efforts, and hope they can get this T-26 kit into production in 1/72 scale like yesterday, as the subject was so ubiquitous in several conflicts and theaters of operation. Excoriate Leland? Hardly. If you had read the whole of my rather short post you would see I am actually posting in his defence (sort of) and think the people who shriek every time he pops up are being a bit daft. However, it seems to have become the norm to attack anyone who doesn't trip over themselves extolling Tango's virtues. Neutrality is no longer an option and indifference is seen as hostility. Apologies for bringing this up after four days but I avoid TMP over the hols and have only just seen the response. And nice tank. When my early war fixation moves from France to Russia I'll probably need a few. |
BlackWidowPilot | 28 Dec 2012 6:48 p.m. PST |
Excoriate Leland? Hardly. If your Op is an example of what you characterize as "indifference" or "neutrality," Mr. Brown, I'd hate to be on the receiving end of what you consider actual excoriation.
If you had read the whole of my rather short post you would see I am actually posting in his defence (sort of) and think the people who shriek every time he pops up are being a bit daft. I rad your post; my reading comprehension skills have not according to those more learned than I deteriorated in any recognizable fashion. If that was your idea of a "defense," frankly if we ever play on the same side in an air combat game I'll pass on having you as my wingman, just as a precaution
However, it seems to have become the norm to attack anyone who doesn't trip over themselves extolling Tango's virtues. Neutrality is no longer an option and indifference is seen as hostility. I come from the old school, Mr. Brown; "if you don't have anything good to say about someone, don't say anything at all."
Apologies for bringing this up after four days but I avoid TMP over the hols and have only just seen the response. That is wisdom, Mr. Brown. The holiday season(s) are exasperating enough
And nice tank. When my early war fixation moves from France to Russia I'll probably need a few. Speaking from personal experience, that transition will hit you suddenly and with a vengeance. It's something to do with all of those rivets and multiple turrets that pushes an Early War gamer straight over the edge every time, like being lobbed overboard tied to an anchor

I'm not sure that argumentum ad populum is a valid critique when discussing opinion vs fact. To argue that the world is flat because a large number of people believe it to be so is a logical fallacy. To argue that Armand's posts are rubbish is a widely held view because the majority of a suitably sized random sample hold that opinion is not. However stiflers are not a random sample as they are self selected. So in this case Highlandcatfrog is talking rubbish. :-) Personally I enjoy Armand's posts. Keep up the good work. |

so I don't bother complaining unless he does something particularly daft. You mean like posting something that's already been posted by the Editor on the News pages? |
BlackWidowPilot | 29 Dec 2012 9:24 p.m. PST |
You mean like posting something that's already been posted by the Editor on the News pages? Which apparently some of our fellow TMP regulars miss if the story becomes buried in a herd of other news stories, or miss by going directly to the forum via their personal bookmarks.
