It's not going to be the end of the world. They want me to come back to Head Office in January to do more work on the project I'm on. No Mayan prediction is going to stand in the way of Full-cycle SME insurance products!
Mind you, after all the booze at our office Christmas party on Thursday night, Friday might just feel like the end of the world!

Bio weapons released super flu followed by a collapse of the civil authority, thence civilization.

Your bug out kit list, fictional or real.

Bug out Bag contents would include the following:
– 1 weeks worth of MREs
– 2 1 liter water bottles full
– 6 protein or energy bars
– 1 good multitool (Gerber, SOG, Leatherman)
– 3 tool rolls consisting of:
* 1 roll carrying SAE ratcheting combo wrenches
* 1 roll carrying metric ratcheting combo wrenches
* 1 roll carrying pliers, cutters, adj. wrenches and vise grips etc.
– small pack hatchet or axe
– entrenching tool or spade
– decent fixed blade knife with sharpening and care gear.
– standard Swiss Army knife (always in the pocket!)
– 1 multi-season sleeping bag with plastic tarp for ground cover/tent

Easy choice there: Ellen Ripley from Alien. She's smart, tough, resourceful and cute as well. Don't know if I could deal with Jonesy or not as I am allergic but I'd do my damnedest!

This one might just qualify in the vehicle category: one OGRE Mk V. If that's a bit ostentatious for you I'll just take the M41 pulse rifle. That should work a treat.

In terms of real world weapons, Probably either an M1 Garand or AK-47 along with a TT-33 Tokarev or my trusty M1927 Argentine Colt along with enough ammo to keep feeding those guys for a while.

Ideally a heavily modified Atlas missile silo with working lift gear. The lower levels would be perfect for an underground industrial facility stocked with my Robots of Doom churning out the mecha of the new age of mankind!

More realistically, a two story farmhouse or cabin set back far enough from a road and or woodline with enough clearing to have a decent free fire zone if necessary. At least two decent sized out buildings for vehicle maint. and storage and a well equipped machine shop, storage, and generator facility as well. Still like a good sized undergound bunker.

Exactly that way.

All the survival gear and stocks are a waste of time. If it's the end of the world, then there's no use for them after that date. Likewise investing millions in movies. If the world doesn't end, you may make money on your investment. If the world does end, it doesn't really matter anymore.
