Soo this morning I glued some 15mm Romano-British onto popsicle sticks and took them outside to prime them. I gave them a good basecoat, then went inside while they dried. When I went out again, squirrels had attacked my troops, tearing them off their bases and tossing them onto the yard below. Fortunately, all soldiers are accounted for and undamaged, and I had just raked the day before, or else I would not have found them until spring. Curse you Saxon squirrels! |

At least they were not ravished by Pictish Opossums. The Horror. |

I have learned that a coulpe of outdoor living cats can be a great squirrel deterent. That doesn't mean the cats won't find your miniatures irresistable. But if you manage to keep them wild you're less likely to have a problem. |

We have some neighborhood cats, but apparently they were on their coffee breaks. Or else they copped a "Hey, what harm can Vortigern and some of his buddies do?" attitude. And 15mm minis might be safe, but 6mm troops are getting down to the level of kitty litter size. |

You didn't basecoat them chestnut brown, did you? That would confuse a squirel. |

"ravished by Pictish Opossums" Well, that image will never leave my head now. |
