I don't know what to make of this picture. Most of the time I associate the berdiche ax with the haiduk look. I guess these can stand in for the urban militias. I will be curious to see what other poses are included. So far no pictures either at PSR or the Mars site.

You're welcome, Joe If the miniatures looks in flesh as in the pictures, Mars have done a lot of improvements, but as read here (by the nice place for 1/72 amateurs link they don't too polish , I hope that they can mix well with other 17th century plastic sets. Cheers |

They're fine for what was known as "german infantry". But they would not have berdisch axes. They would have pikes in addition to the muskets. |

Some of them Would work for Swedihs infantry for the 1655-60. |

I'm afraid there just mix of strange clothes and weapons, as usually Mars didn't do any historical research. If that would be 'late' infantry (like reign of Jan III Sobieski) then 'foreign' infantry should be wearing Polish-style clothes and have berdish-axes. At least it seems that they changed sculptor and way that they make figures. So pretty inaccurate set that should be called 'generic Western-type infantry in 17th century' rather then Polish infantry. |

They look pretty good considering some of mars previous products. Considering the historical "accuracy" angle
good recruits for an imagi-nation setting? Cheers paul |
