Hi Guys
I've uploaded a swag of pic of my Saxon Warband for playing TFL's Dux Britanniarum rules.
I've played three games thus far, (two in a campaign) and they are a bucket load of fun:

Drop by to see more photos.
Oh, and added some Romano Brits also.

I like them ! I also have the rules, but haven't played them yet.

Very nice work!
I'd love to do something similar, but looking at your pics reminds me what a huge investment is required to acheive what you have.

I only doubled up on the 'Big Men', (Lord, Nobles and Champion).
It's a bit extravigant to have both 'Action' and 'Casual' figures, but I got the 'Beowulf' Collection at a good price and have had them for a while. Dux Brit was an excuse to finally paint them.

Very nice! I myself am going the Dux Bellorum route, ordered for under the tree. I have quite a few of the 15mm Splitered Light figs.

Nicely done sir! I need to finish my late romani.

Very nice!

@Twilight Samurai – you can get by with little expense and much less effort (and still have very nice figures) if you get the Splintered Light 15mm Dux Brit packs.

Great inspiration! I actually have quite a few of those figs myself and am also putting together a Saxon warband for Dux B.

"your pics reminds me what a huge investment is required to acheive what you have."

Compared to almost every other ancients battle game out there (aside from Saga) Dux B. requires a very small number of figures--only around 40 to start. Given that most ancients games require 100s of figures for a starter force, I'd say it's quite manageable. Additions to your force come slowly in the campaign system, so once you have your initial warband you have plenty of time to paint reinforcements.

I should add I painted them thus:
Undercoat in Matt black.
Dry Brush 'silver' in those minis in Chain-mail
Block colours applied, including Flesh to skin areas, Reds, Greens, Off Whites, 'British Khaki' etc on clothing, and painted spears, swords and helmets etc.
Applied a single 'Highlight'
Shields painted using method above and attached.
Bases flocked.

With only 45 figures a side plus some sheep and cattle, this is my first 28mm project. The figures paint up faster than I thought. Used Final black wash to finish. Putting LBMS shield decals next. My best project yet. A 30% sale at West End inspired me to kick it off in September.

I think you mean West Wind.
