Howdy,

Recently exchanged emails with Terry Zuber. Shown below is additional description of this latest book, followed by a teaser for his next.

History Press has had the text and maps for First Battle for about two months. They are probably scratching their heads over it, but you're going to love First Battle: it's got 60 outstanding tactical maps, and when I say outstanding, I'm not exaggerating. Most of them are 1:50,000 topographical maps, some of them really wargame big, produced by the cartography department of the Bavarian Army Archive, in other words by the Bavarian General Staff. I have emphasized to History Press that the maps make the book; the text is secondary. I have also told them that the only way they can do this is to make the maps available on a CD or online, or both. That will allow you to zoom in on all the details. First Battle is going to break all kinds of new ground. Unfortunately, the book is all about the Bavarians and there's almost nothing about the French, but that's because even in French there's not much about the French.

Next project is Liege, Namur and the Battle of the Sambre. If you want it, lots of stuff for you again. How about siege warfare? This time, I have tons of tactical information on the Belgians, none of which anyone has used in 80 years. I have to have it done by December 2013. I thought that would be easy, but I have found so many Belgian sources that I'm going to have to hustle. Means I have to take a trip back to Europe, which my wife is looking forward to already. I have a Belgian in Liege who has given me lots of help.

I'm looking forward to both.

Ponder on,

JAS
