Any recommendations for a Vallejo green to be a good match for British DPM? It will be over black-undercoated Revell 1/72 British Infantry. Thanks for any help Regards |

Best thing to do may be google for images of British DPM uniform. Over the years, with different suppliers etc the only really constant colour is the black. Not forgetting we used to try and fade our kit, no one wants to look sproggy with nice shiney new DPM! There are quite a few examples and threads on here: link Tally Ho! |

Yes, any old mid green will do, fades to more of an olive green, when wet can go to quite a dark green. Personally I do dpm as sand base, red brown disruptive then finish up with the green to control the overall tone. |

Yup, take any green you like! Lovely moleskin 1970s DPM tended to be much paler in hue than later kit. I had a much-loved pair of 1970s-vintage trousers that were bright grass-green with orange and blue-grey-black. I had two 1980s-vintage jackets – one was VERY dark indeed, while the other was a sort of curry-powder base colour. The more recent S95 kit seems to be much more uniform in shade and seems to strike a happy medium between the extremes of earlier versions of DPM. Martin, I'd also add black, as that what DPM has as the fourth component. DPM always tends to look too dark from a distance, hence the new MTP (which ironically looks too pale in woodland). |
