Howdy, I'm planning a WW1 east front game for Historicon. Not sure of the specific scenario yet, likely based on Stallupoen – Tannenburg August 1914. Ponder on, JAS

This will be very interesting. Infantry, support guns, and off board artillery I assume. Any cavalry? The tactical choices are quite different when there is no WW II armor hanging around. When you do get to the scenario specifics, please post. Mike |

I'm planning to run a game at a convention too. Not exactly sure what it will be yet. |

I enjoy WW1 and Eastern front over the west too, if I attend I would enjoy playing in your game. Good luck with your decisions and preparations! |

Howdy, Shown below are photos the most recent reinforcements for 1914 games; Austrians! Whiles these specific figures will not be used for this summer's games, I'm beginning to get forces arrayed for the east front.
Photo 1 - Three battalion infantry regiment
Photo 2 - Cavalry squadron with dismounts
Photo 3 - Artillery battalion of three batteries, with command infantry stands This summer, I think I will run a German-Russian game circa Gumbinnen-Tannenburg at Historicon. Ponder on, JAS |

Howdy, I'm pleased to pass on Frank & Glenn (Test of Battle Games) have given me the go to develop a scenario book for the east front. Right now, I expect to limit the scope to battles in 1914 in East Prussia & Galicia. I aim to finish a draft by summer 2014, and get the thing published in 2015. More to come

Howdy, My submitted games for Historicon. Gumbinnen – In the Center (preferred time for game Saturday at 7pm) On August 20, 1914 the German Eighth Army launched a hasty attack on the Russian First Army, east of Gumbinnen in East Prussia. In the center, the German XVII Corps launched an unsuccessful attack on the Russian 3rd Corps. The defeat triggered a change in command for Eighth Army and the subsequent Battle of Tannenberg. Playtest for forthcoming scenario book, Great War East – 1914. Scale: 15mm Era: WW1 Rules: Command Decision, Test of Battle Number of players: 6 Table size: 6ft by 8ft Host: Jessee Scarborough Meanwhile, on the Frontier (preferred time for the game Friday evening at 7pm)
Catch a whiff of powder smoke as two nearby communities get in a kerfluffle. Indians try to burn out settlers, perhaps while the settlers raid the Indian village. Try to keep your scalp in this skirmish game when the western frontier was east. Scale: 25mm Era: 18th Century Black Powder Rules: Muskets & Tomahawks Number of players: 6 Table size: 6ft x 8ft Host: Jessee Scarborough Enjoy! JAS |
