"New Blue Moon ACW's arriving soon?" Topic

The Old Glory 25s website now has all of the upcoming Blue Moon ACW releases listed, although they are not yet available for purchase. Lots of interesting figures! Hope they arrive soon, as my wife and kids are asking what I want from Santa.

I hope that's not all of them. Did I miss Western theater Confederates?

I didn't see the Western Confederates listed either. They may be listed as coming soon, but I wouldn't sit around waiting for them soon. They will probably be out sometime next year, unless you heard something that we don't know?

Russ Dunaway communicated earlier that the Western "Confederates" label was a typo. They are now properly labeled Western "Federals" on the website.

Unless I stand corrected, there is no real distinction in uniform or appearance to justify offering a separate 'Western' confederate figure pack.

In my opinion, what IS missing from this line-up are packs of Confederates in kepis and shell jackets. As it stands now, there a few figures with federal-style forage caps thrown in with the Confederate infantry packs. Otherwise, the Blue Moon Confederates all have civilian brimmed hats, or more military-style Hardee hats.

Kepis were regularly issued (when and where available) by the Confederate depots. Some units, like the 2nd Maryland (CSA) wore them throughout the war.

DCW1962, you are right. There are no kepis in the Confederate packs and too many sack coats mixed in with the CS packs. I know we've been down this road before about the kepis/forage caps, but the majority of cs should at least be in shell jackets. Again, I know it's a way of having to just replace heads on US figures to make them into CS figures, but it's not correct. Some people won't care, but I do! It's the only complaint I have about Blue Moon figures. So, my request is, a complete pack of CS with Shell Jackets and Kepis. That would make a good Md Regiment as your picture above.

FireZouve, I have painted up a few of the Confederates in sack coats as wearing civilian clothing sent from home. Most of the rest have been converted to Yankees. This has given my Federal regiments a lot more variety with slouch hats mixed in with all of those forage caps, along with blanket rolls too.
