Just discovered those kits, made by Italeri. Anyone knows what scale they are? link |

Hard to tell but looking at the site in translation I would guess 20mm or 28mm – prob the latter. Would be good for a HoTT army |

I have the tank. It isn't 28mm precisely but I think it works well for that scale. Cannon might be smallish. I have some diagrams and drawings of the tank, and think it would be more like 20mm if the tank was built as intended for human occupants. I also have the paddle boat. I'm working on it for 28mm, but I think it is more 20mm scale as well. I don't have pics but I MAY be able to take some later. |

I also have the ship/tank – a bit too small for 28mm, or evn 20. I go for 15 or even smaller – its a ship, and hard to judge how large these guns should be. In any case it does not look practical if you ever plan to reload the guns :-) I doubt that they really tried to do these for a specific scale. Still, nice stuff :-) |

Hi Dr Mathias, Could you tell me how big the tank is (in diameter) please. I would love to add one or two to my Italian Wars armies, just for the novelty, and it would be nice to know how big a footprint one has. |

I'll dig them out tonight and take some shots with some Perry late medieval figures, along with measuring them. |

Some 16 cm. A cannon is 3.8 cm |

Pictured next to a Perry plastic mercenary, which I'd call smallish 28mm. Boat is 7 inches long. Mine is waterlined and has been tweaked a bit, the paddles are further back etc. Tank is about 5 inches wide, I haven't put on the wheels so it would sit higher than pictured, maybe 2.75 inches total. Hope that helps. |

Wow, thanks. I really do need one of those for my Italian Wars armies. I'll have to develop some special rules, but it could be fun. Or failing that, I could use one as a camp base figure. Anyone make a Leonardo in 25/28mm? |

I think Pro Gloria make a pretty cool geographer type guy, I've not seen a legit Leonardo figure, which I would love. |

Dear Dr Matthias, The tank in your photograph does not look like the pictures of the Italiera 3104 kit in the first post. Are you sure it is the same one? link I would like to buy the one in your photo – do you know the manufacturer and name or number of the kit? Thanks Mick |

I have no idea what kit Dr. Mathias photographed, but I would like one, too :-) BTW: Leonardo – GW did a model some years ago, Leonardo di Miraglio:
Did some research. The tank is an Academy model: link It seems that Academy and Italeri are the same models – with the one exception that I did not find an Italeri-version of the tank. Its available as Academy via model shops or amazon, though. And of course there is the Resin version of Black Army:
Somewhere I have this last one painted – it looks pretty good since its made for 28mm. |

I didn't look closely enough at the first post- the gunship kit depicted is the aquatic version with paddles that Leo designed, not his armored car. The sprues on that site initially led me to believe they were the same kits more or less, with different packaging. Thanks for the lead on that Leo Puster, I appreciate it. I can't recall where I got my armored car and boat, but if I had to guess it was probably Amazon. |

Thank-you both. I have put the Academy armoured car kit into my Amazon wish list. Regards Mick |
