Hi all. I am just painting some Khurasan Chinantec nobles (bowmen) who have small round shields. Can anyone assist with advice on: what these shields were made of; what colour(s) or design(s) they should be; and what the two circles are on the front of the sheilds? You can see the shield held by the commander figure at link . Thanks, Michael

None of my books have any sources for them – I would guess they would be similar to the Aztec designs for want of a better option. I'm about to paint mine that way, at least…
