I have a bag of Old Glory/command Decison "African Irregulars". Intrestingly, there were exactly 16 figures wering a beret who will be perfect fo the 4 counters, err stands of Palace Guard for my Junta conversions, but I digress
I mounted them on Flames of War bases, and primed with Krylon Brown camoflage paint, which is a very dark brown spray. I intend to drybrush the flesh to lighten it up and highlight. Any recommendations? I usually work from a lighter shade and stain, so starting from dark and working back is new. The Place Gusrd will of course get a nice khakl uniform and red berets. |

John that is the same way I do mine. My dry brush color is Ceramcoat Autumn Brown for their flesh. |

I use Burnt Umber. Looks nice. |

I use a darker base colour (some sort of reddish brown) and then a dark inkwash. |

Sepia ink is a strong tone to darken any base colour, for African skin tones |

Used to prime black, then drybrush white, then paint my zulus with Armoury's Chocolate Brown. Did the same with my AK-47 figs. Then my paint ran out. : ( |

Just make 'em look as black (Dark Umber works) as possile. Do a few lines for the camo and wash to your hearts content. |

Yeah, I used to use that Armory color too. It was perfect! Thanks, John |
