An extensive interview with both of the authors of the 17th century ruleset "By Fire & Sword" which will be released in English at Salute in 2013. The interview covers both the background of the authors and the wargaming scene in Poland as well as a lot of information about the By Fire & Sword rules themselves. link

Anatoli, Thank you for keeping this game in the spotlight at TMP. Although I have been watching, and waiting for the English version, I probably would have forgotten about it after a while. I enjoy reading your AARs, and seeing the pics on your blog. |

Thanks Sapphon :-) Just hold out for a bit longer, it will be worth it! |

Thanks, Anatoli! I look forward to the English version! Do you know whether the PDFs will also be translated? It would be nice if they were to model Cossack chaika (a type of boat), too

PDFs will be translated as well but cannot give You any timescale for that. In near future we don't have any plans for boats, especially as scale of game rather rule out their usage. |

Interesting interview
I look forward to seeing how they do address the actual differences between Polish winged hussars and Turkish Sipahi in the rules. I love the artwork and I will buy the rules for the anticipated historical references. My only quibble is the suggestion that 28mm is somehow not appropriate for "large" games but should be consigned to skirmish games. I have an extensive 28mm Polish, Cossack/Russian and Turkish collection and am about to add Swedes. I use the Carnage and Glory pike and shot computer moderated rules and have fielded Polish forces with 4-5 banners of winged hussars, 10 banners of pancerni and assorted dragoons and light cavalry. Depending on what you define as "epic" in appearance my games meet that criteria. I also have a collection of Sash and Saber 40mm TWY Swedes, and amd am just waiting for the 40mm Polish winged hussars
now that will be epic. I'll be running a big Eastern Renaissance 28mm game at Cold Wars in March
I'll take pictures and post them. Can't wait to see the English language version of the rules. db |

@Kadrinazi: Thanks for your reply. Re. boats, they might be used in raids or skirmishes between Cossacks and Ottoman Turks, or serve as additional scenery, along with the houses and windmills that you already make. |
