Finally finished! I am now the proud owner of ten units of 36 of these guys, plus about the same again by other manufacturers. A photo here, plus some commentary on painting large batches of figures:

I am having to find ways to stay motivated when dealing with loads of roughly the same types of wee metal guys. I know it's a bit of a recurring theme here on TMP, but I'm finding that a combination of peer pressure and grit does the job, although sometimes it's hard going…

Very nice, good to see some of the old stalwarts holding the line :-).
I can only sympathise with the motivation problem, I think most of us experience it at some time or other.

I'm going back one step further, its the older Greenwood and Ball Hoplites. Those guys are still missed!

Why are they missed? I still make them.

The older 20mm ones are my favourites, but I daren't tell you how many I've in my armies.

Anyone on a nostalgia thing could check out the Gallery:

Thanks for looking everyone, and for the nostalgia trip too. I really enjoyed painting them, it's just that I ended up with so many. Which is good news for Rob at Garrison, of course!

Hi Mike, I saw Dougie about the Companion minis on Tuesday, but he forgot to bring them and the list of Romans. I hope to see them next week. Incidentally, it sounds as though quite a few of those are from the Republican Roman range, as well as the Caesareans, which I wasn't expecting. I really am glad that I pressed him on these; I had no idea he had so many, and they are very hard to find at the best of times…

Paul, thanks for letting me know the status on those! I will be waiting to hear from you! Also those figures bring back fond memories of the figures that I had! Cheers Mike

Still have a pile of them in my closet… too old to paint.. it's hoarding at all costs…
