Y'know, the oddball RPG that ran the big kickstarter a while back with all those truly screwy minis? One of the big "things" in the setting is that snake cakes (especially Twinkies) have evolved into sentient life. Many of them hold a grudge against humanity (which is mostly extinct anyway) for years of their ancestors being packaged and eaten.

That was fine – but then today this news story broke:

Hostess shutting its doors? Do they not realize they're dooming a whole gamut of future species by doing this? The EPA really ought to get involved. And Greenpeace.

There's gaming potential here – a multiplayer scrum in the factory between corporate security, Greenpeace activists, rioting union workers out for revenge, and a time-travelling team of berserker Twinks.

The frist thing I thought of after reading the article was that Woody Harrelson's character Tallahasse in the movie Zombieland is really going to be upset.

I'm stocking up on Ho-Hos.

No worries. Every other snack food company in the world is salivating right now at the idea of buying the right to make Twinkies.

Chocodiles were already an 'endangered species', unavailable except from one or two factories in California and then, only in PARTS of CA…(might explain why CA's state budget is shot, they need to sell more CHOCODILES!!!!!!)

Then again, Twinkies were going back to offering Twinkies with the 'original' BANANA creme filling, (which was changed to the white creme filling, during WWII because of the banana shortage….(or so we're told) and now THIS!?

I KNOW we're not supposed to talk about 'politics'….but the current 'administration' could bail out banks and the auto industry, why not something REALLY important…like TWINKIES!!!!!!

Forget 'succession' issues, let's get a petition to the White House to 'save the Twinkies!!!!!!'

Slishfully,
Sgt DWW-where do I sign???!

'Give me Twinkies/Chocodiles or give me…..erm…DEEP FRIED TWINKIES!!!'

I haven't had one of the accursed things in decades… though I'm quite sure the first one I ever refused, if it is still out there, remains as 'fresh' as the day it was born.
The sad bit is the loss of jobs… the potential, but unlikely, lessening of crappy food on the store shelves would be a cause for celebration.

Where's the Twinkie bailout?

badger2221 Nov 2012 10:08 p.m. PST

I am OK with the extinction of twonkies but the loss of zingers is really going to hurt.

Remember if you eat just wholesome proper food exclusivly, you still wont live forever it will just seem like it.
