I'm waiting for my Saga ruleset to arrive – I've not played yet, but I want to start painting. The Saga starter armies on the GB site have standards and horn blowers. Are these necessary for a skirmish game? Or just decoration? |

Decoration, though a standard with your warlord would look nice. |

There are supposed to be rules for standards in the Raven's Shadow supplement that will be out in a few days. So you will probably get a better answer from someone next week. |

I was actually tempted to mount my warlord and his standard/horn blower on a single base. Just count them as one for gamw purposes. |

nnascati – many people do this, and very fine they look. |

I was about to rebase my warlord in such a manner but decided to hold off until I see the new rules, just in case. |

I haven't played SAGA yet, but I do have my Viking Warlord on a large round base with Standard Bearer/Horn Blower and another on the base with a Warhound. I will still consider it one Warlord, the others are for looks. Joe |

A warband just doesn't look right without a big boastful standard IMO. And every Great Man needs a trumpet entrance

I have Raven's Shadow now and to close the loop on this, the rules for warbanners require an actual independent model with the banner. So a banner on a warlords base would be only for decoration. |
