Just to let you know, that I just posted a review of the Perry plastic Austrians on my blog:

Also included are comparison pictures with Front Rank, Foundry and Victrix.

Thanks.

The best part was the comparison picture.

I love comparison shots. Burkhard, you are a legend!

Vry nicely done. Good choice of subjects for the photos.

Good stuff, and I especially appreciate the comparison photos. Thank you.

El Torre14 Nov 2012 7:40 p.m. PST

Thanks.

After seeing the painting guide, I realize just how beautiful this army might be on the table: the officer in greatcoat and helmet is particularly nice.
Probably easier to paint too, I think, compared to some other armies. Now I REALLY can't wait for the Uhlans.

I agree that more foot officers are needed; the Russians and Prussians need them too, by the way.

Thanks again 14th Brooklyn.

Glad you all like it!

@El Torre: I share the feeling, that the command / rank and file ratio in all the Perry boxes seems a little low, but I guess we will have to live with that if we want to take advantage of the plastics. I have resigned myself to buying some metal commands. Which was actually easy for the French and British since I got those fairly cheap since someone in my region had bough far more than he needed! evil grin

I'll order a couple of boxes nex time I place an order with the Perrys.
Cheers

I note that you were disappointed with the molding quality of the Perry Russians. Has anyone had that problem with that particular set?

Was this just a 1-off bad cast or is the mold poor on the Russians?

14th Brooklyn16 Nov 2012 3:51 a.m. PST

Thanks again guys!

@huevans: It seems to have been a limited problem… A friend of mine bought 4 boxes the orher week and they were fine.

You don'y happen to have a victrix austrian grenadier head to try on a perry body to see if it fits?
