Bit of an odd request this I was looking at an old Military Modelling from 1983 and came across an advert for a company called Viking Miniatures which was producing 25mm WOTR figures ( they look similar to Front Rank). From the photos on the advert they look like really nice figures and I wouldnt mind having a look at them in the flesh so to speak. The company was based in Glasgow
Does anyone know what happened to them? |

I bought a set army from Viking Miniatures way back. In the time I took to paint them all the company was no longer there for me to expand it and I have heard nothing of another manufacturer taking over the lines. Great figures by the way. x42 |

The Viking Miniatures Vikings, Anglo-Saxons, Normans and I think the First Crusade ranges were aquired by Warrior in the 90s I think. Not sure about the WOTR range? Some of the ranges Vikings and some other figures are under their Crusader? range. They also aquired the old Castile Miniatures range which are also under the Crusader range, they were Feudal into WOTR figures and very nice figures, definitely 25mm. Drop the chaps at Warrior an enquiring email, they are very helpful. |

I had a Norman army and still use some of the infantry. The photos of the Warrior Miniatures Normans are definitely not the same as the figures I have. The Viking Miniatures are nice figures though "true" 25mm they are noticeably smaller than Foundry figures in the same army and would be dwarfed by current figures, Crusader for example. John. |

My very first army was a Viking Miniatures Viking army
acquired sometime around 1979-80 I would think. That army went on to lose against just about every opponent I fought at Glasgow and District Wargames Club |

I still have some unpainted Viking Miniatures, Anglo-Saxons, Normans, First Crusade and some Vikings I think. I'm pretty sure I've still got copies of some of the lists too. If you can't get what you're after at Warrior let me know and I'll see what I have. |

Viking Miniatures were a sad loss. If Warrior did acquire them they don't seem to have advertised the fact. They're good enough to compare with what's around now
.but are definitely 25mm. I have plenty and I'm currently selling on those belonging to a recently passed away friend on behalf of his wife. |
