The Maquis at Vercours staged a variety of operations and rose up against the Germans at the time of the D-Day landings. Sadly, the rising was ruthlessly crushed, but in wargames at least, one hopes to reverse such defeats.

There is a free PDF campaign available for Memoir '44, which covers the Vercours campaign in five linked scenarios. We played it out over a weekend and you can see pictures of the first game here.
