Another quick update from the Terminus Nebula blog, detailing a light tank-hunter that I converted from a 'mech-clix vehicle – and thought I'd share with y'all :)

I think you'd have more success with Matchbox hovercrafts:

at least these are of 15mm size

That's a very nice job, Torben. The larger clix vehicles are OK for 15mm, certainly not as an MBT, but as a smaller vehicle they are OK, and relatively cheap. That said, the hovercraft above were only £1.00 GBP each….

You got me at "repurposed." jumped in the cmg fad before and sunk a lot of moolah. Been repurposing too since the original games evaporated.
was into dnd, mageknight and a bit of mechwarrior. Good job on the conversions! I love it when the repurposed models make my friends wonder what line they originally came from.

@Moqawama – I cannot counter-argue that these models are slightly out of scale, but I still feel that they have a good look to them as small, light, two-man vehicles. The ones pictured above are inteded to be used for quick harrasment manouvers – and have little regard to the physical fittings for the various races piloting the vehicle (you wouldn't be able to fit in a Garm, that's for sure!) ;)

But I really like those hovercrafts! A shame that we don't have something similar here in Denmark; all we have in regards for toys like this are massively expensive, unfortunately.

Cheers on the comments! :)

where did you get those hovercraft as they would make idea 6mm assault landers!

Torben:

look on Ebay.co.uk for "Matchbox hovercraft" or "Diecast hovercraft" I bet you'll find lot of suitable toys.

I would suggest that you build a smaller undercarriage to bulk out the size of the tank.

Either add a bit of skirting for hover crafts or some tank treads to add some height.

I took a under sized matchbox vehicle and converted it into something closer to scale by adding extra kit to bulk it out and it helped a lot. I could see the same thing working with the mechwarrior stuff.
