Does anyone know or can point me in the direction for info on this limber. Have nearly finished painting this but am stuck on what colour to paint the ends of the shells in the limber. Should they be brass or were the shells actually covered in a wicker type sleeve ?
Thanks in advance.

Looks like they're in sleeves:

Thanks Dom, I'd Googled that image but the ends bear no resemblance to the model !

I *think* it is the same type; it's just that the armrest / bracket bits have been removed from the ends (possibly as it was being vehicle towed, so didn't have gunners riding it any more) which changes the look quite a bit. If you look at the top edges, especially top right, you can see the mountings for them are there.

Here we go, then, and now I'm back-tracking – the "sleeves" are fixed parts of the actual limber, so the shell slides straight out. If it's full, then, the baseplates of the cartridges will be exposed, so you want brass for the ends:

I need to get out more….
