Watched The Somme on Channel 4 last night (available on 4 on Demand for those who missed it.

Very atmospheric. Couple of historical gripes but I felt it conveyed the first day of the battle very sympathetically.

Lot of good WW1 stuff on yesterday and this fitted in neatly.
