I'm researching a raid by the ski battalion of the Soviet 17th division. About the only information I can find is this: link

There is an accompanying map:

On the map is some text which I need help reading. Could anyone familiar with Russian please translate it? The towns and rivers I can do, but the note such as the one about 589 regiment(?) are beyond me.

I'm having trouble reading the characters because they're so small.

You might try the forum at english.battlefield.ru.

OK, I'll try there. Thank you.

If your computer is resizing the image, try right clicking on it and pressing "i". It should open the image on its own

Looks like "unit of unknown origin and a squad from 589 regiment".

I saved the picture in my computer and used zoom.

It does! Never knew that … great tip, RexMcL ('fraid I can't help with the translation, though …)

Thanks

Phil

I'm using Firefox as well. the letter "I" is just the keyboard shortcut for "View Image" once the menu is open.
