After a long work (I paint really slow) here following my finished British 95th Rifles. Tamiya Fine Grey Primer Vallejo Model Color Vallejo Black Wash, Fleshtone Wash and GW Devlan Mud Vallejo polyurethane varnish (brush)

Thanks, Nice paint job, do you get the face shading from the fleshtone wash? Is the varnish clear or does it add shade too? I've never used Vallejo paints, are they water based acrylic or Alcohol based like the Tamiya range Figures by? rabbit |

Figures are FRONT RANK. Yes faces shades are obtained with Vallejo flesh shades over Vallejo flat flesh. Vallejo are Acrylic Based. Varnish is clear and matt but it "kills" the shade a bit. |

Great work on the faces there. Actually just a bit of attention for eyes with proper tecnique and careful use of wash. Only one color for skin and then wash. I tried many times to add colors to eyes without success. Great work helped by great figures. I totally agree Andy well sculpted miniatures not only look better but are also easier to paint. Not easy for me to explain in English but what I mean is that some kind of details obtained by some sculptor are not so easy to paint compared by others |
